The new version of Headup released today includes an independent music player that enables users to listen to playlists of their favorite music generated automatically by cross referencing their social profiles. This release also introduces Headup’s “Social Annotation” feature which identifies and highlights terms that have a social relevance to users. This unique feature truly connects users to the Web in a brand new way.
Headup was upgraded today from being an ‘Experimental’ to being a ‘Public’ Firefox extension by Mozilla’s editors. It can now be downloaded directly from the Mozilla addon site without users having to perform any kind of registration whatsoever.
SemantiNet has been elected as one of the eight ‘Silicon Wadi’ companies that will demo the next generation of applications for the publishing industry, to a delegation of 25 German executives representing about 90% of Germany’s online publishing industry. The delegation, scheduled to visit Israel this summer, is arranged by The Israeli Export and International Cooperation Institute. It’s the organizers’ intent that the visit help create collaborations between the hosting companies and the members of the visiting delegation.
The latest version of Headup includes a complete remake of the personalization process. The new interface is designed to make it as easy as possible for users to connect Headup to their social profiles and online networking services. Another goal for the redesign is to enable the easy addition of new services in the future.
SemantiNet has been elected to participate in this year’s “IsraelWebTour” to the Silicon Valley, scheduled for April 20-23, 2009. The IsraelWebTour is an annual conference aimed at granting the participating companies an opportunity for targeted meetings, presentations, and roundtable discussions with industry experts and key investors. The Silicon Valley companies hosting this year’s tour include: Google, PayPal, Yahoo, Microsoft, Amazon and Facebook.
