- Installation issues
- headup is installed, but nothing happens
- I seem to be unable to sign in
- headup used to work, but now it doesn't
- After using headup for a while, Firefox starts to slow down
- How come I don't see as many
icons scattered on the webpage as the video presents?
- Installation issues In order for headup to run properly, three components must be installed on your computer: Firefox 2 or 3, Microsoft Silverlight and the latest version of headup. Please verify that all three are present and updated. We are constantly working on improving headup, and offer updates and new versions every few days. For the most updated version of Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Silverlight, please click the provided hyperlinks. To ensure that your headup is up to date, please click on the "Tools" menu in Firefox, go to "Add-ons", where you will see if a new version is available.
- headup is installed, but nothing happens If you've already installed headup successfully on your computer, a Sign In window should pop up once you start the Firefox browser. Occasionally the Sign In window may appear in a different tab than the one you’re looking at, so please check to see if it is among the other open tabs (we are working on a fix for this issue).
- I seem to be unable to sign in If you can’t see the Sign In window, try looking for it among the open tabs of your browser.
- headup used to work, but now it doesn't headup currently runs only in the tabs of a single Firefox window. Please return to the first Firefox window you opened and check whether headup works there. In case you closed it, you'll need to close all of the other windows and only then open a new one. We are sorry for the hassle and are currently working on a solution to this problem.
- After using headup for a while, Firefox starts to slow down In case you have recently added services in headup's Settings, Firefox will temporarily use additional memory while integrating the new data. This process might take a while, depending on the amount of contacts you have in the various social networks. After that headup should work smoothly.
- How come I don't see as many
icons scattered on the webpage as the video presents?

After verifying that you have the latest versions, please make sure that a "
" icon appears on your Firefox's bottom right corner.
It should look like this:
If for some reason it looks like this:
Please click it and choose "Enable headup".
Another possible explanation is that headup currently runs only in a single Firefox window. If you have more than one Firefox window open, please check if headup runs in the first Firefox window that you opened. If that doesn't help, please close all Firefox windows and only then open a new one. We are sorry for the hassle and are working on a solution to this issue.
In order to sign in, please use the same password you entered during the Sign Up process. If you forgot your password, you can always retrieve it using the ‘Forgot Your Password?’ page.
If you have special network configurations (such as Squid as a proxy server) it might block our SSL. Please contact us at support@headup.com for further assistance.
Another option is that headup is going through a short update process. Look at your Firefox's bottom right corner.
If you see the following:
it means headup is currently updating. The process should only take a couple of minutes.
Also, please verify that you have the most updated version of headup. In order to check for updates, please go the Tools menu, and click on "Add-Ons" to see if there are any available updates ready to be downloaded.
If that is not the case, the easiest solution is to restart Firefox. Since connecting the web is not an easy task, it is possible that at times Firefox consumes more memory than it usually does. For the time being, the add-on works on modern computers equipped with 750MB of RAM but for optimal performance you should have at least 1.5GB of RAM installed. In any event, it is unlikely that your memory consumption will reach these levels.
We are doing our best to reduce the memory footprints of headup for the final version.
